Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 running on Xbox Cloud Gaming. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based role-playing game developed by Sandfall Interactive and published by Kepler Interactive. Expedition 33 is a ground-breaking turn-based RPG heavily inspired by other games in the genre, You will notice it when playing the game.
Expedition 33 has unique real-time mechanics, making battles more immersive and addictive. The game takes place in a fantasy world inspired by Belle Époque France in which you battle devastating enemies.
The story is every year Paintress paints a new number. Every person of that age dies. With only one year left to live, Gustave, Maelle, and other Expeditioners embark upon a quest to break the Paintress cycle of death. Follow the trail of previous expeditions and discover their fate.
Exploration of the Game
Expedition 33 feels like an open world game, but not; you can’t go anywhere at any point. You have to unlock areas to move forward in the game, which feels like a Final Fantasy game. It is a beautiful, well-crafted fantasy world. Travel through breathtaking landscapes, discovering secrets and hidden quests along the way.
Battle System
The game’s battle system is like Persona and Final Fantasy, an inspired turn-based and Sekiro and Wo Lang-inspired dodge and parry system. Even though it draws much inspiration, but with a fresh coat of paint. You have to make the right decisions to defeat an enemy, and you can dodge enemy attacks. They combined both battle systems, which works great.
Xbox Cloud Gaming Performance
Expedition 33 is running on Xbox Cloud Gaming. The game runs great, but the quality of the game is fine. It is playable, you notice some artifacts here and there. The game runs the Series S Version of the games, not the Series X versions. Internal resolution of the game is low, and it is upscaled to 1080p. I only noticed the artifact and low-res quality at the beginning of the game, but when you move to the island game looks great. Expedition 33 runs at 1080p resolution and 30fps.
Stress test of the game on Xbox Cloud Gaming. Expedition 33 on my PC Via Edge browser. I played the game for nearly 3 hours continuously without any breaks, and the ran very well. I didn’t face any issues or lag, the game runs very smoothly. You don’t feel like you’re playing on cloud. My only concern about the game is that they should have given Series X versions.
I played continuously on Edge Browser, I also tested other devices. The smartphone version is 720p resolution, and the rest of the quality is the same. You can also play on Fire TV, a few Selected Smart TVs, and Xbox One via the Xbox App or Web. You need a supported controller to play the game.
Overall, the game looks good and plays fine without any lag or disconnect issues. I will recommend this game to play.
